Last week, with the help of several amazing PTA volunteers, Mrs. Wilkinson and I hosted a Talent Show for Grades 2-4. It was a booming success!
We saw over 50 acts audition for the Talent Show. Based on preparedness and scored on a rubric, the top 20 acts were selected to perform. The students were also chosen to represent a variety of talents, from music and dance to comedy, tumbling, and magic. Thank you to everyone who auditioned, and all the adults who helped by volunteering or promoting!
Dance students are off to a great start! Our first unit focused on the health and exercise aspects of dance. Now, we are a couple weeks into our second unit, creative movement. We are focusing on the artistic and creative aspects of dance.
We are off to a great start! This week, I have been starting out each class with a sun salutation from yoga. I explained that a sun salutation is a series of yoga poses and stretches that sets us up for a great class. It is a centering and focusing activity that, as the name implies, is also a greeting and a way of waking up the body.
