Welcome to Dance at Ogden!
In Dance class, we study elements from a variety of dance styles including concert dance (ballet, modern, jazz), cultural and folk dance (hip-hop, salsa, bollywood, hora), and fitness dance (cardiovascular warmups in a zumba-class style). We also use yoga and mindfulness and tools to prepare the body and mind for class during our warmup. Students move creatively using improvisation and creative movement structures. Finally, students study the basic elements of time, space, and energy that makeup choreography and how to manipulate choreography using a set of tools and devices.
